Transcend 25M3C Reviews
Failed after 3 months
I first had ordered a similar Transcend 4TB drive from Amazon a year ago and it is still working fine. I decided to order another one, only this time from B&H in Sept 2025. It worked great the first time, took about 4 hours to backup my Windows lapltop, which is comparable to my other drives. The first one from Amazon has done several backups with no problems. I have other USB drives that I also use without problems. Yesterday I wanted to do a fresh backup using the Transcend from B&H. I first formatted the drive to start new before starting the backup. The backup appeared to start OK and indicated about four hours to complete. After about an hour it indicated eight hours, then ten hours. I left it running all night, this morning the backup program indicated a failure to complete and my laptop could no longer recognized the drive. The drive "hummed" indicating it was running, but Windows couldn't see it. I removed the drive and restarted the laptop. I next connected the drive again, but Windows still could not see the drive. I tried a different USB cable, but no help. I now have a paper weight. I still believe Transcend are excellent drives, but I appeared to have received a dud. And it is past the return time for B&H. I have started a return to Transcend since it is still withing Transcend warranty period.
Transcend is the only way to go.
Great product, good price and easy to use.
