Glide Gear TMP 750 Reviews
It's alright
Having owned this prompter for 4 years now it's time to give it a proper review. The rail system is confusing at first to build out. It's the simplest thing once you get it together, but it will rattle your brain and make you feel like a idiot when building out the riser the camera sits on. The camera is held by a 1/4 20 thumbscrew. I wish it was quick release. I attached a quick release to the thumbscrew, which is an added cost. Raising the lowering the camera riser is annoying. They are held by two bigger thumbscrews and it's tough to tell if the riser is level. The glass is good quality and doesn't diminish the image from the camera or cast any weird colors. The hood is not the greatest. The zipper is broken. The Velcro that holds the hood around the frame has started to peel. However, the worst part of this prompter has to be the included carrying case...if you can call it that. Don't expect this case to protect your teleprompter. The latches easily open at the slightest movement. The plastic shell is like butter. I have to wrap gaff tape to keep the case from opening. You also have to break the prompter down each time you put it in it's case. With more and more teleprompter models coming out these days, you can certainly find better value for your money. This is now my backup teleprompter and have purchased a different brand where portability and assembly is much easier.
Adapter for iPhone Recommended
Good value for the dough. Definitely not a precision cut, machine tooled aluminum affair. Recommend a height and angle adjustable phone adapter if shooting with one (I'm using an iPhone 14Pro.
Supports larger tablet
Does the job. Light weight. Supports a wide variety of tablets. Well made.
Great Product
very professional and easy to setup
Great setup
Like the Prompter. Real professional. Setup instructions were difficult. States that there is no iPad holder but there is. Phone holder is not in case but may have to get one. Camera easily attaches to base. Lens string is difficult to tighten.
Great Teleprompter - Horrible Case
We love the actual teleprompter so far - it has a ton of adjustments and flexibility to really get your camera and iPad in the perfect position for your shoot. I've used other rail based teleprompters before that never quite line up correctly and this doesn't have that problem. The glass is large can definitely accommodate the largest of tablets. My one issue is that the case it comes with is an absolute piece of junk. It is the thinnest plastic possible and the latches to close it are impossible to close and don't give me much confidence that they will stay closed during transport. For the price, that is very disappointed as I will likely have to spend another $200 on a Pelican case to keep this from breaking. Pro Tip: Buy a quick release plate and attach it on top to cut down on your setup time and help get the camera secured properly to the rig
No more umms
Great piece of gear to help a more professional delivery of your content. Nice build quality. The case offers protection, but a Nunuk case to protect the glass is more secure, as the beamsplitter glass is the prize component obviously.
Best For Larger Ipads
We had a glide gear for a long time but needed a new one With a bigger display. We love this and use it all the time when recording videos
