    I bought this Switchpod ball head because it is solid metal and strong!! I have machined a special tightening adapter so I can tighten the mount the way we did in the 70's on our older tripods. I really like this head!

    This ball head is well built and has an interesting design concept - One knob to rule them all. There is not a separate knob to control pan and another to control ball movement. This has pros and cons. I like the idea, but in execution, while the panning movement is very smooth, getting the right tension to control the pan and ball movement takes a little experimenting. And, it is not the smoothest ball action I have felt. Another recommendation has to do with storage. The SwitchPod comes in a well-padded and eye-catching cardboard box that will stand some beating. However, once you add the ball head on the tripod, the pod no longer fits in the box. I recommend if a customer purchases the pod with the head, have it ship in one box that fits the pod with the head attached. Some kind of padded case would be another option. I would give this one a 3.5, but that is not an option.

    I have a tripod that has a 3/8"-16 screw for the mount head type, what reducer bushing would work for this ballhead?
