Kensington SD4850P Overview

Your laptop connects to the front end of this docking station alongside USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A and Type-C ports for enhanced data transfer speeds up to 10 GB/s. You will also find a 3.5mm audio jack as well as an SD card reader. The back of this device features four USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, an ethernet port, one HDMI port, and two DisplayPort++ inputs. Another USB Type-C port can also be found on the back of the dock, giving you the ability to connect to a display as long as your laptop supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and Power Delivery. Additionally, a power button is located on the left side, with Kensington security slots located on the right.

USB Connectivity

Plug in your laptop to this docking station via included detachable USB Type-C cable. You have access to two front USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports that deliver up to 10 GB/s data transfer speeds, with the rear USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports supporting up to 5 GB/s speeds. The docking station itself uses PD 3.0, which can charge a variety of mobile devices faster and without needing an additional adapter.

Dynamic Video Support

With two DisplayPort++ and one HDMI port, you can connect an array of displays to your laptop. An optional USB Type-C port using Alt Mode can be used instead of one of the DP++ ports for additional device support. In order to use this, your laptop must also support DisplayPort Alt Mode. On a DP1.4 HBR3 enabled laptops, you can experience 4K maximum resolution, at 60Hz refresh rate on up to three compatible displays.

SD Card Reader

Transfer high-resolution photos and videos with UHS II 4.0 technology. This eliminates the need for additional adapters or peripherals.

Windows Compatibility

You can connect this dock to any laptop running Windows 7 and newer, without the need for additional drivers. Free Kensington DockWorks software is available and maximizes your device's potential with Wi-Fi Auto-Switch, MAC Address ID Pass-Through, and Device Connection Monitoring.
