MSI B550I Gaming Edge Overview

Design a sleek, small custom build PC with the MPG B550I Gaming Edge Max Wi-Fi AM4 Mini-ITX Motherboard from MSI. Ideal for the builder who wants to focus on gaming components, this mini-ITX form factor motherboard offers the utility of larger boards in a smaller package. Take advantage of fan or liquid cooling systems, wireless internet connectivity, and RGB headers for a unique and colorful style.

An AM4 socket and B550 chipset provide compatibility with various AMD Ryzen-brand processors. Two dual-channel DDR4 memory slots are available, as well as four SATA III ports and two M.2 slots for storage devices. A single PCIe 4.0/3.0 x16 slot is available for the installation of a graphics card. This Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) enabled motherboard gives you wireless access to your network, and Bluetooth 5.1 lets you connect wireless devices such as speakers and headsets for a cord-free experience. This motherboard is only compatible with Windows 10 (64-bit) operating systems.

DIY Friendly Design
Whether you are a seasoned or amateur builder, the MPG B550I is designed for simplicity and durability, giving you everything you need to put together a gaming optimized PC. A steel armor PCIe slot is reinforced with heavy soldered connections to prevent bending while an XL clip permits easy device swapping. Double ESD protection prevents shorts by adding another grounding layer to mounting holes. Additionally, an EZ debug LED system tells you if components are experiencing any issues, reducing time spent on troubleshooting.
Enhanced Performance
MSI constructed the MPG B550I with enhanced features to increase system performance. The foundation of this board is built on 8-layer, 2oz thickened copper printed circuits for enhanced durability and conductivity between components. Core Boost, DDR4 Boost, and Lightning Gen 4 all work together to provide better stability during increased workloads while also maximizing transfer-speed bandwidth. Enrich your media experience with MSI's Audio Boost, using isolated audio signal and de-pop protection technology to provide a crisp, high-quality 7.1-channel surround sound.
MSI Dragon Center
Take control of advanced motherboard features directly from your dashboard with MSI's free Dragon Center software. Giving you total fan control, overclock settings, and hardware monitoring, you can fine-tune your experience depending on your needs. You can also set up specific user scenarios, automatic live updates, and adjust monitor settings for customizable brightness and color adjusting. You can also access your settings through your phone with MSI's free App Player smartphone application.
USB Connectivity
Read and write onto external storage devices with USB 3.2 Gen 2 capabilities. Up to 10 Gb/s transfer speeds are available through Type-A and Type-C ports located on the back panel. Additionally, internal USB headers give you access to a front-enabled Type-C port for easy access.

A fan controller lets you adjust speeds for preferred temperature settings. An extended heatsink covers essential components and the signature M.2 Shield Frozr keeps your NVME solid-state drive cool under heavy loads.
BIOS 5
BIOS 5 allows you to dive deeper into hardware settings, enabling CPU and memory overclocking, BIOS flashing, and real-time hardware monitoring in both an easy and advanced mode for seasoned technical users.
