Sonnet Breakaway Box 750EX Overview

Render projects and run other hardware-demanding applications with the eGPU Breakaway Box 750ex Enclosure from Sonnet. This external enclosure is designed to accommodate various PCIe 3.0 x16 equipped AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards, allowing you to turn your Thunderbolt 3 enabled notebook into a workstation suitable for running various photo- and video-editing software. The 750ex eGPU is ideal for notebook users who wish to explore their creative side or enjoy some graphically intensive games, without purchasing a whole new system.

The built-in 750-watt power supply gives you two 8-pin (6+2 pin) connectors, allowing you to take advantage of power-hungry GPUs and giving you the ability to charge your notebook with 85-watt power delivery. A wide range of graphics cards can be installed into the 750ex including two-slot, full-length cards such as the AMD Radeon VII, RX, RX Vega, NVIDIA GeForce RTX series, TITAN, and Quadro models. Additionally, this unit includes four USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports so you can connect peripherals like external drives and controllers. An RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet port is also available for hardwired network connectivity.

Please note that only Macs with an Intel processor support external GPUs (eGPUs). Macs with M Series processors do not support eGPUs. Also, eGPUs are not supported by Macs with Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 2, or Thunderbolt ports, nor when running Windows 10 under Boot Camp.

Enhanced Graphics Performance
Connect a high-performance GPU to your computer with Thunderbolt 3 technology, significantly improving editing, rendering, color grading, animation, and special-effects performance. While Windows supports both NVIDIA and AMD model GPUs, Mac devices can only support AMD brand cards.
Thunderbolt 3 Connection
Built upon the Thunderbolt 3 foundation, the 750ex eGPU ensures up to 2750 MB/s of PCIe bandwidth is dedicated to the installed card, giving you the power you need to ensure proper workflow. Additionally, you can connect several eGPU Breakaway Boxes to slash task times on supported applications and handle up to 8K resolution workflow efficiently.
Expansive Utility
The 750ex includes four USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports so you can connect peripherals like external drives and controllers. An RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet port is also available for hardwired network connectivity.
GPU Compatibility
The 750ex eGPU supports a wide range of AMD and NVIDIA GPUs as well as non-GPU PCIe cards, including pro-audio, DSP, and pro video transcoding cards, allowing you to increase productivity within various industries.
Cool and Quiet
The large variable-speed temperature-controlled fan quietly and effectively cools the installed card and can be comfortably used in noise-sensitive work environments.
Gaming Support
Enjoy a wide variety of graphically demanding games on your notebook that would otherwise deliver a poor experience. Accelerated graphics can be displayed on one, two, or more external monitors or on your notebook's own display panel. The eGPU 750ex is compatible with macOS Big Sur as well as 10.13.6+, 10.14.6+, and 10.15.7+, giving you access to various AMD products line for optimal performance. Windows 10 (64-bit) version 1809 and later can support select AMD and NVIDIA brand graphics cards, ensuring maximum compatibility suitable for your workload.

Bought this on a open box sale for 249.99 and boy was it a wise decision. It works like a champ with RTX 4060 card and I am happily playing Diablo 4 and the likes from my dell laptop with just a intel graphics chipset. Definitely recommend this product to anyone who is looking to go eGPU route. Planning to get one for my son to take to his dorm

Works flawlessly on my dell xps 13 9305 running windows 11. Graphics card is a GTX 1060 6gb. Installing the card was simple and quick. Directions included are perfect. Windows immediately recognized and download the graphics driver and software including a utility that shows which programs are running on the graphics card. This is a perfect replacement for my old, dead gaming desktop that just died (graphics card thankfully still was perfectly fine)

Yes, the Sonnet eGPU Breakaway Box 750ex Enclosure can be used with RTX 40 series GPUs, keep in mind the enclosure is not compatible with GPUs wider than 2 slots or longer than 312mm.
