I recently purchased a JVC GY-HC500U along with the JVC Extended Life Battery. I also purchased the JVC battery charger. I changed the battery and on my first shoot with the camera I choose the ProRes 422 codec. I filmed a high school baseball game, duration 2 hrs 15 min, and I thought the battery would last the whole game but it did not. After approx. 1 hr 15 min I had to change batteries. I had thought the extended life battery would last at least 4 hours. Maybe it's just because it was a new battery or possibly recording to the SSD drained the battery at a faster rate, I don't know, but I was disappointed. I will test again and update my comments.
