Manfrotto MVGFF Overview

Use the Gimbal Follow Focus Motor from Manfrotto to perform precise focus pulls when using your MVG220 and MVG460 handheld gimbal stabilizers. The motor can be mounted onto the gimbal baseplate using the included mounting bracket and 15mm rod, and it can be adjusted to fit a variety of lens and camera sizes.

The motor gear allows you to control your focus directly from the motor gear, and it allows you to perform real-time tracking with a highly precise brushless motor. The focus motor is controlled using the USB cable connected to the gimbal's control port, and the multi-function knob on the side of the gimbal handle can then be used to finely control focus on your lens.

Works as described and solidly so, do your own research and make sure your gear supports its use, that is your duty as a shopper.

Won't work with 300XM gimbal

I don't know if this is a good follow-focus motor or not. We bought it to use with our brand new Manfrotto 300XM gimbal and it won't work. The Manfrotto service people couldn't help me. They said there probably needs to be a firmware upgrade for the 300 gimbal for it to function. How weird is that. There's a focus control knob on the gimbal that won't control focus!
