I'm Maybe Two Weeks Into The Experience. I Remembering What Old School IT Equipment Was Like I Bought A Das Keyboard Which Made The Mouse Next To It Feel Like The Cheap Thing It Was. Yes, This Mouse Is All That And I Haven't Even Taken All The Buttons Out For A Spin. Even If You Use It As A Four Button Mouse (the Other Middle Click Just Happens) You'll Be Happy. Eventually I Have An OLD School CAD Package I'm Looking Forward To Hooking Up To This Thing, So I Can't Speak To The Advanced Features. The Build Quality Is There, The Ergonomics Are There And I Wish I'd Bought Both The Keyboard And Mouse Sooner.

One of the better mice available today.

In use, these aren't too bad on the hand .My experience has shown that this model can be expected to last 3 to 4 years.

Does the wheel have detents or is scrolling completely smooth and continuous?

Per the manufacturer's website, "Smart Mouse Wheel 2: Smooth scrolling and Tick-to-Tick zooming in CAD applications" is the only description used for the wheel.
