Sunpak MiniPro Reviews

This tripod was the cheapest tripod I have ever seen.

This tripod is extremely cheap. One of the legs fell off right out of the box. A little hot glue fixed the problem. One of the locking legs is very tight. There were a couple other things not worth mentioning. I would send it back but its not worth the time or money.

This is NOT an all aluminum tripod as the SPECS indicate...

When I purchased two (2) of these tripods, I was under the impression that the tripod was all-aluminum based on the following line item under the SPECS tab: Materials: Aluminum Alloy That is NOT the case! It is almost 50% PLASTIC! Even the Three-way pan head with quick release plate is 100% plastic! Whoever would have thought that the quick release (QR) plate would be PLASTIC? Even the teeth of the Geared center column for precise height measurements are PLASTIC! I would have returned both tripods had I not discarded the two boxes that the two tripods came in. The trash was already picked up by the time I noticed just how much PLASTIC was used on the tripod that was supposed to be Aluminum Alloy construction per the specifications tab. In actuality, only the leg segments and the center post (sans teeth) are aluminum. The nuts and bolts are some type of steel. The remainder of the tripod is PLASTIC! How cheap and misleading is the material description under the SPECS tab. These two tripods will not be in my inventory for long. I'll try to sell them at the local flea-market. If that fails, the tripods will end up in the trash. Hopefully, B&H Photo will update the description of materials to indicate that about half of the parts are PLASTIC. Had I known that up-front, I would have skipped this table-top tripod for something more robust without all of the PLASTIC.
