Great battery for nikons

Great battery, basically same as oem en el 15c, just a little bit cheaper. Personal recommendation for a Z user, Have two OEM batteries for safe keeping, then get two more of these as your backups (what I did).

Just like the real deal

Purchased as a backup battery, so I never run out of power - has saved me a few times already.

Can't tell the difference

Works just like the OEM battery in a Z5, both in camera and in a battery grip. Seems to last just as long and charges as fast. I've used the non -c version of the battery in a D7100 before and it eventually developed the issue of not working unless held into the battery compartment, so it's possible this one will eventually get to that point, but I'm happy to pay half of the OEM cost for a couple years of good service.

Great backup battery for my XH2.

Limited lifespan

These worked okay for a few years. The charge didn't last as long as the Nikon brand batter that came with the camera. Several years later the Watson batteries don't hold a charge but the Nikon works fine. You decide if the savings outweigh the longevity issues.

Doesn't Work in Z8

I've always been happy with Watson batteries. I just got my Z8 and slipped it in, and Nikon has bricked them all, it says the battery can't be used, and won't turn on. It's the same battery, B-3423, as shown in the image. Maybe a subsequent release will work. BTW, I gave it 5* because it's a good battery for cameras it works in.

Is this battery "chipped", so you don't get an error message when you try to use it?
Asked by: Mark
The Watson EN-EL15c Lithium-Ion Battery Pack (7V, 2250mAh) (B&H# WAENEL15C) does indeed contain an IC chip that will result in operation that, from the user's perspective, is identical to that of a Nikon EN-EN15c in most common cases. However, in some cases manufacturers can issue firmware updates that can make the operation of any third party battery different such as requiring the user to click "OK" on the screen to use it. At this time (November 2021), it will power any Nikon camera that takes the Nikon EN-EL15, EN-EN15b, or EN-EL15c. That includes the latest such cameras from Nikon (i.e. the Z 6II and the Z 7II), as well as earlier models. You can click the [COMPATIBILITY] button on this webpage to see an updated list.
