Roland RP701 Overview

The black RP701 88-Key Classic Digital Piano with Stand and Bench from Roland brings families and beginning players a rewarding playing and practicing experience in a compact, streamlined instrument, elegantly crafted with a traditional upright appearance designed to complement any home.

Roland's SuperNATURAL sound engine provids a rich, comprehensive sound palatte with 324 different tones to choose from, while the PHA-4 Standard keyboard is touch-sensitive and ready to handle all the dynamics and nuances of your performance. The keyboard offers dual, split, and twin piano modes, and you can play through the two built-in 12W speakers or use the headphone jack with 3D enhancement for private sessions. Two USB ports allow you to connect to your computer and add a separately available flash drive for storage. Bluetooth is also onboard for MIDI data or for use as a wireless aux input, so you can play along with your favorite tunes. A 3.5mm aux input for wired connection is also provided.

The included stand offers an integrated triple pedal with damper, soft, and sustenudo for expressive control similar to that of an acoustic piano. Completing the package is a matching piano bench with height adjustment.

An excellent piano in our tower condo

My wife and I are both pianists. We purchased this piano for use in our vacation condo on the 18th floor of a tower building. The challenge of transporting the piano's large delivery box from the freight delivery truck up an elevator was met with a 4-wheeled cart. Assembly was surprisingly easy, and took 2 hours. The detailed directions were easy to follow. Two essential directions were: 1) hand start all screws to prevent stripping threads, and 2) use 2 people to carefully position the keyboard for insertion it into 2 U-shaped brackets on the upright supporting sides. The piano is great in having many adjustments both for tone and touch. We are comparing the overall effects favorably with a Steinway Model M in our main home for our classical repertoire. But having access to additional fine features such as an E-piano is great for expanding our jazz piano chops. We look forward to many hours of enjoying this fine piano.

I did a lot of research to find a good solid, electronic piano for my wife who has a degree in classical music. She really loves this piano and we hope to enjoy it for many years to come.

Is there a separate sub-woofer for the RP701 Piano?

There is no subwoofer that is made for direct compatibility with the Roland RP701. You can connect one of the headphone outputs to a speaker or PA system that has compatibility with a subwoofer, if you need to do that.
