EHRO Field Solutions Accessory Support for Manfrotto Nitrotech Heads

Terrible design...

Purchased two of these for my Manfrotto Nitrotech 608 heads and they simply don't work as advertised. This adapter is designed to mount to either side of the Manfrotto Nitrotech head where the pan bar is typically attached. This adapter mates up and attaches to the head just fine. The problem is, when you attempt to re-attach the pan bar to this adapter using the original Manfrotto clamp and thumb screw, you are unable to fully tighten the clamp down, which leaves the pan bar very loose. The Manfrotto thumb screw on the pan bar clamp has a shoulder on it (meaning it isn't fully threaded) and the shoulder ends up bottoming out on this accessory just before the pan bar clamp is tight. Aside from the pan bar issue, I felt this device could have been designed so much better. For example, they could have utilized the anodized orange section as a universal mounting point for accessories that utilize 1/4-20 or 3/8-16 mounting. Instead, all we get is a poorly designed friction clamp that can maybe hold an umbrella or 15mm rod. Bottom line, plan on using this on the opposite side as your pan bar, you should be fine. However, if you plan on using this on the same side as your pan bar, forget it...
