Auray BA-XE4 Broadcast Arm with Integrated XLR Cable

Outfit your home or pro studio with the Auray BA-XE4, a sturdy, two-section broacast boom arm that supports broadcast-style microphones up to 3.5 lb. With its integrated 10' XLR cable and virtually noiseless operation, this boom arm will come in handy for podcasting or radio-style broadcasting.

The BA-XE4 sports a spring design engineered to provide maximal support to microphones. It provides plenty of range for positioning. Use the standard 5/8"-27 mic mount to acommodate most shockmounts and mic clips, and reposition the angle of the mount at will. When you've got it just right, you can lock it in place with the locking knob.

In addition to the included XLR cable, the BA-XE4 ships with two types of clamps. Use the C-clamp for temporary installations, or use the tabletop flange mount for a permanent installation on a broadcast station or podium.

Lightweight Steel Construction
The BA-XE4's steel construction makes it a sturdy, reliable, and durable studio accessory.
Support Mics up to 3.5 lb
This sturdy broadcast arm can support mics up to 3.5 pounds, which is plenty of strength to hold a Rode Podcaster, or the Senal SCM-660 and a shockmount.
Integrated XLR Cable
A 10' XLR mic cable is integrated into the arm to minimize cable clutter, so you don't have to go through the hassle of threading and weaving a cable through the arm. This makes mic setup and attachment fast and easy.
Smooth, Noise-Free Operation
The arm is designed to move noiselessly and minimize handling noise when you're readjusting the mic or swiveling it over to another person. Repositioning the microphone will not interrupt or compromise your audio.
5/8-27 Threaded Microphone Mount
The industry-standard 5/8-27 threaded microphone mount is compatible with most shockmounts and microphone clips.
Wide Range of Motion
An extension of up to 38" and the ability to rotate the arm 360° allow for precise microphone placement. And once you've put your mic in an optimal position, you can be sure it stays there, because the ergonomic locking knobs give you plenty of torque to tighten and fix the mic's position.
Mounting Options
The BA-XE4 broadcast arm comes with options of convenient temporary mounting or more permanent installation. The included C-clamp is for temporary and movable fastening to a desktop or workstation. The flange mount screws into a flat surface for permanent installation on a broadcast station or podium.
Compatible Products
The BA-XE4 will work with nearly any broadcast-style microphone weighing up to 3.5 lb. It is especially compatible with microphones such as the Senal SC-550X Professional Cardioid Condenser Microphone, the UB-440 Professional USB Microphone, and the SCM-660 Large-Diaphragm Multi-Pattern Condenser Microphone. You can also use the PCR-65 Cardioid Condenser Microphone, RM-650 Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone, RM-800 Large-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone, and more.

question

I just got the iRig Pre HD. It says it will work with Android phones. I want this product to help my students in a course, but I don't have an Android phone myself. I know the lightening cable goes with the iPhone (etc.) but is the cable included that goes into an Android-based phone? I only see 2: lightening and USB.
Asked by: Mathew
The IK Multimedia iRig Pre HD is compatible with Android devices. Users can connect the Micro USB-to USB cable into an OTG adapter to get into the Android phone. For your reference, you may look at the StarTech Micro USB Male to USB OTG Host Adapter; B&H# STUUSBOTG.

Can you monitor while recording?
Asked by: benjamin
You can monitor from this device while recording. If using an app with a monitor return, then the audio will be processed and returned out the headphone output. If using an app without an audio return, then the Direct Monitoring feature of this device will allow you to hear the audio input, before being sent to the app.

Does this preamp work with the video shooting ...

Does this preamp work with the video shooting apps (3rd party or standard, such as those on Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra)? If so, does the sound in video become 24bit / 96KHz or it's downsampled to something less when recording?
Asked by: Alexander
The IK Multimedia iRig Pre HD Audio Interface with Mic Pre is capable of passing audio at a 96 kHz / 24-bit sampling rate, however because it is not a recorder itself, the sampling rate of the audio file would depend on the capabilities of the application used to record. The iRig Pre HD has general compatibility with Android OS, but specific compatibility with third party applications is dependent on the specific application's ability to be used with external microphones.

Does this come with the cabling to go out to an iPad? Lightning to Lightning?
Asked by: j isaac
Yes, the iRig Pre HD comes with two cables -- a Lightning to micro-USB cable and a USB to micro-USB cable. The host connector on the iRig is micro-USB. If your iPad uses a Lightning connector, then the Lightning to micro-USB cable is the one to use. If your iPad uses a USB-C connector, use the USB to micro-USB cable together with a Pearstone USB 3.0 Type-C to USB Type-A Adapter (B&H # PEUSB33CA06) or similar USB-C adapter.

our church switched from an analog mixing board to a digital signal processing unit... can i take the sound out of that unit and go into this irig and then to an ipad/?? in other words is this digital or analog?
Asked by: gary
This is a digital audio interface any signal which should work with your sound board as long as you have a Mono XLR output. I would suggest the iRig Stream for this kind of use. Use the RCA out on your board directly to your iOS, Mac/PC, or Android for video streaming or recording. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1523177-REG/ik_multimedia_ip_irig_stream_in_irig_stream.html

Does it’s gonna work with audio connect Mac and Switcher Studio app on iPad ?
Asked by: Brenda
Yes, the iRig Pre HD works with Mac and iOS. Unfortunately. we do not have any information on the Switcher Studio app. It looks like they suggest the original iRig Pre. Check with their team to see if they allow digital audio on iOS. If so, this should work great. https://support.switcherstudio.com/en/articles/3066145-using-an-audio-mixer-soundboard-with-switcher
