Gator GFW-RINGLIGHTSET Reviews
Easily broken, not worth the money
The wing nuts on the tripod wore out after 6-8 months, so I stopped being able to change the height of the tripod, it would always fall down. Also, the top, where the light meets the tripod, is on a ball joint that doesn't stay in place, so the phone would tend to dip. The top broke off a few times too, I had to keep opening the light to pop it back in to the nut and screw. Shoddily made, did not last a year without breaking.
Not Impressed
Purchased the Gator two ring light set. Short review is that I got what what I paid for: A pair of LED ring lights of poor, rather flimsy, quality, and light stands of the lowest quality possible to hold these flimsy ring lights. They work, and I'm sure for occasional use, they will suffice for basic illumination. I did not buy this set for video blogging or whatever, but for small product photography. Illumination with these ring lights is uneven, with a hot center and rapid fall-off. For full brightness, the USB plug-adapter needs to supply 3 amps to each ring light, and the adapter gets hot. The thin wire to each ring light gets surprisingly warm too. The tripod stand will hold the light, but is certainly not up to frequent adjustments, nor is it very stable. The desktop stand is okay except for the sloppy ball head. Good luck trusting a phone mounted with this system, which I would never use. Conclusion, they work and will be just okay for very light duty use.
