Great for 35mm, ok for everything else.

I've had this item for a couple of years already and can honestly say its been my go to for scanning. I've used dedicated flatbed, dedicated 35mm scanners, and labs and this has always given me the results i've wanted time and time again. I wanted to address a couple things others users have posted. One, it does have 3 brightness levels which can be adjusted by turning off and on the main switch in quick succession. If you wait too long to use the switch you will only get one brightness level, this was clearly indicated in the instructions / video on the website for the product. Secondly, if you're using 1 to 1 reproduction ratio and properly scanning 35mm you will not get perforations in the view and no light bleeding, if you're not it will not affect your scan. Overall, this is a wonderful product at a great price point. I purchased mine with all three masks but found the 120 and 4x5 a bit cumbersome. I would recommend only using this for 35mm, or getting a v650 to scan medium format

Love It So Far

I bought this one due to the flexibility of formats. I needed one that would accommodate 620 negatives, and this does. And in the future I will use the 4x5 mask as well. I scanned five shots from an 80-year-old Kodak Medalist I and Ilford HP4, with a leveled Nikon D850 on a tripod and a 105 macro lens. This box is bright enough to stop down (I used f/11), shoot at native ISO 64, and still have a fast shutter speed. The end result after inverting the curve, cropping and toning in Photoshop is far superior to the pro scans from my local camera store, and now I have control over the process. Although I did not use a copy stand, I do plan to also buy that to make leveling easier and enable me to use my 60mm Macro lens instead; I could not get close enough for that with this setup. I plan on always keeping this sealed in a ziplock when not in use to avoid any dust. Well-made, great invention.

What's the proper lens to use for scanning? With this? I have Sony A7S II

You would want a lens that has little to no distortion so I would recommend this Sony FE 90mm f/2.8 Macro G OSS Lens https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1126140-REG/sony_sel90m28g_fe_90mm_f_2_8_macro.html?sts=pi&pim=Y
