Shure WH20 overview

  • 1Description

The improved version of the WH10, the Shure WH20, is a rugged, lightweight, dynamic headset microphone that provides high-quality voice pickup. It fits securely for active microphone users, such as aerobics instructors and musicians, with low visibility for stage appearances. The WH20 is suitable for any voice communications application where comfort and reliability are required.

The WH20 has a cardioid (unidirectional) pickup pattern. This provides greater gain-before-feedback and isolation from ambient noise and other unwanted sound sources, such as air conditioning, musical instruments, and loudspeakers. A carefully shaped frequency response includes a voice-frequency presence peak and a low-frequency roll off to compensate for the proximity effect inherent in cardioid microphones during close-talk operation. An integrated elastic CROAKIES headband secures the headset comfortably. The headband, wireframe, and gooseneck are adjustable to accommodate any head size or shape.

TA4F connector for Shure bodypack transmitters is included
Lightweight wireframe and headband adjust for a secure, comfortable fit
Extra-strong, small-diameter attached microphone cable resists breakage
Collapsible microphone boom for easy storage and transportation
Smooth, natural frequency response comparable to high-quality dynamic handheld vocal microphones
High input clipping level eliminates overload distortion
Reliable at temperature and humidity extremes

    Shure WH20 reviews

WH20 Headset Mic with TA4F Connector for Shure Bodypack Transmitters is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from MY FAVE HEADSET MIC!!!!! I am a fitness instructor and this is my favorite mic to use! I've tried others, but none fit and stay on my head the entire class. This one is adjustable to fit any head! Just bend the wire to adjust it! For the price it is DEFINITLY worth the buy!! I use this mic 7+ times a week and sweat like crazy and have had it a year and a half, however just recently I noticed it had some sound issues. I purchased the additional warranty and they are reimbursing me the full cost of the mic, no questions asked! So I am purchasing the EXACT same mic again with the warranty!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great The mic works great - my only wish is that the headband were more adjustable, I sometimes feel it's loose on my head...other than that I'm happy with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for PA We use this mic to reduce acustic feedback in our PA system. It is much better than a lapel mic for reducing acustic feedback. If you are having problems with acustic feedback in your PA system this mic may help you. Sound quality is good given the modest price especially for PA applications.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Second time I purchased this Headset I have used this headset for 8 years, I recently had to purchase a new one. The problem I am having with my new one is the mic does not stay in place with quick movements. It will drop and bounce around. I find I have to hold the mic up while teaching dynamic movements. Over all the Headset lasted years before I had to replace it, teaching 2-3 times a week.
