Building on the success of the previous model, the Think Tank Photo Production Manager 50 V2 Rolling Gear Case gets multiple upgrades while trimming pounds off the weight. The case is thoughtfully designed to address the needs of production crews who require tough and portable cases to carry their larger gear to and from locations. The case allows you to clearly identify the contents, quickly load and unload them hassle free, and hold up to daily use and abuse. From the reinforced ballistic nylon to the shock-absorbing wheels to the large customizable padded interior, this latest version of the Production Manager 50 is built to work as hard as your crew does.

  • Holds three to four flash heads, two to three power packs, monoblocks, umbrellas, large softboxes or collapsed modifiers, large light stands including C-stands
  • Multiple see-through zippered organizer pockets on lid interior for cables, cords, gels, tape, batteries, and more
  • Padded lining protects gear from impacts
  • Set of long and short dividers allow for customized storage and organization of gear, or you can remove them for full interior access
  • Adjustable and removable lid straps keep bag open and accessible

One of my favorite pieces of gear, can fit so much gear, wheels a good and it has a quality build to it. I currently carry on this case: - Aputure 400X, with balast, cables and its fresnel/barndoor and reflector. - Aputure 200Xs, with PS, cables and its fresnel/barndoor and reflector. - Aputure 80C, with PS, cables and its fresnel/barndoor and reflector. - Amaran 120C, with PS, cables and its fresnel/barndoor and reflector. - DMG Dash + buble eye thing. - 2 Amaran T2C tubes. - 4 ft and 3ft domes. - Stingers/safety chains, gels, connectors, a few grip heads and clamps. I still have some room to fill in it, its just amazing.

This bag does a great job accommodating my Aputure lights, Kupo light stands, and tripods/monopods, with some room to spare. However, there are a few design flaws that could be addressed to improve usability: Handle Placement and Padding The handle padding on the top and side feels subpar and could be improved for better comfort. Additionally, the side handle is positioned too low, making it much less ergonomic for maneuvering such a heavy bag. Adding a second handle on the opposite side and upgrading the padding would greatly enhance usability. Wheel Locks Given the bag’s size and weight, wheel locks would be a welcome addition to keep it stable when upright. Adding 4-way wheels with locks would be an even better improvement, especially considering its length and difficulty getting through doors. Strap Mechanism The lid straps that hold the bag open often get caught in the zippers, which is frustrating during use. The newer design seen in the V2 Airport Navigator by ThinkTank features a better strap mechanism that could be incorporated here. While this bag is one of the few available in this size, which is a significant advantage, addressing these design issues would make it much more user-friendly and practical.

What is the water resistance to this case? I'm looking at hard vs this, and may be shooting in moist environments like wet grass

The Think Tank Photo Production Manager 50 V2 Rolling Gear Case is not water resistant. The case will not be good in very humid, moist atmospheres. A hard case will be a better option.
