If the arm for the FS7 MK2 is compatible with the FX6, why would this one be better than the FS7 one?
I asked this same question on the B&H page for the Shape arm for the FS7 MK2 and this is the answer I got, which is why I was wondering why the arm specifically made for the FX6 is any better for the FX6 than the one made for the FS7 MK2 (which I already own)-
Hello Scott, Thank you for your question! Our remote extension handle is compatible with the FX6. However, you might want to take a look at our FX6RH remote extension handle which is actually specifically designed for that camera.

Are we supposed to unplug the Sony cable from the grip and plug the Shape coiled extension cable instead? When I connect the Shape coiled extension cable to the Sony grip cable, I get this error message on the screen: "an accessory that cannot be used on the grip terminal is connected."
The extension cable included with the SHAPE Remote Extension Handle and Cable for Sony FX6 is meant to be an extension cable that the cable on the handle plugs into. Then, the extension cable is plugged into the camera. The extension cable must be plugged all the way in on both sides to prevent any errors from showing up on the camera.
