Optical fingerprint 8-bit grayscale scanning technology achieves precise image quality quickly with the onboard blue LED. Silicone coating and large capture area can read your prints from various angles with ease. High-quality metal casing provides an additional layer of protection for the device while also ensuring it doesn't move while in operation. The 4500 Fingerprint Reader can be used on any Windows, Linux, or Android-based system with a USB Type-A port for optimal compatibility.

Data Encryption
The 4500 Fingerprint Reader quickly and automatically captures and encrypts the fingerprint image before sending it to the biometric engine for verification, keeping the captured image secure the entire time.

There is no mention of O/S compatibility in specs. Listed in the "Read Me" file installed during setup. There is no documentation included with the product. I had to figure out how to download and install the driver. I emailed the manufacturer for support. No response.

Unit works well but does not include user manual or software. Took a Google search to find out where to get the software. Then I needed to find a YouTube video to find out why Windows 10 wasn't seeing it. Very nicely made but customer User Interface and instructions are non-existent unless you do Google searches.
