I'd received a used Laowa Probe Lens as a gift, and it had been my primary tidepooling lens since. This new version is a large improvement over the one that was on the lens. The USB-C cable provides more power (I think) to the LEDs and so they are much brighter. It also has separated the LEDs from the end of the lens, which means that if there is water intrusion from careless use, you won't have salt and/or mineral deposits building up around the LEDs near the lens. Overall a better design than the original. Also, very nice that you can cheaply replace this component of an otherwise expensive lens.
