A sophisticated wide-angle M-mount prime, the APO-LANTHAR 35mm f/2 Aspherical Lens from Voigtlander holds the elite distinction of being part of the APO-LANTHAR series of optically refined, apochromatic lenses. The apochromatic design makes the on-axis chromatic aberration of RGB light wavelengths constituting the three primary colors of light as close to zero as possible. A series of anomalous partial dispersion and aspherical elements help to suppress virtually all aberrations for especially high sharpness and color accuracy. A manual focus design is employed, along with a high precision helicoid, for refined focusing control. Additionally, a 12-blade diaphragm forms a circular opening when using the wider apertures, creating a pleasing circular bokeh from point light sources.

Voigtlander APO-LANTHAR 35mm f/2.0 Aspherical Reviews
Top notch 35mm for M cameras
IQ in terms of contrast, sharpness and colour is second to none. My go to lens for the M11 is Leica 50AA, this lens is comparable in all aspects. Build quality is the usual high Voightlander standard.
Excellent All Round Lens
This lens is nigh near perfect. It has rich but not imposed color, incredible sharpness across the frame even at F2 and wonderful 3D rendering between the background and foreground. It's a large lens and not light but the build quality and balance are excellent. The bokeh rendering is also very nice and the light drop off is classic. Over several weeks of shooting in dramatic lighting conditions I was only able to detect some slight CA in a back lighting situation. A treat at a fraction of what a comparable Leica costs.
