Satechi ST-TCMA2M Overview

The Satechi USB Type-C Multi-Port Adapter 4K with Ethernet V2 improves on its predecessor, such as now having a click feel when using your microSD card. The USB Type-C port features 60W power delivery while the other three USB Type-A ports allow you to connect compatible devices. If you're looking for a wired internet connection, you can use the Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 LAN jack. You can output to an external display via the HDMI port, which supports up to 4K @ 60 Hz.

Please note that the USB Type-A ports will not support the Apple SuperDrive or charge iPads. Satechi recommends connecting only one bus-powered device at a time.

    Gets hot fast. Can't connect 2 usb3 at the same time. Can't feel confident when using it

    The adapter heats up considerably during use. If used with an Mac Pro M1, the battery drains significantly - this would make sense as the energy has to come from somewhere. Good if you in a cold airport lobby and want to keep your hands warm but your laptop battery will die mid-flight and you'll have nothing to do.

    How would you rate performance with 1 or 2 external drives plugged at the same time?

    The Satechi USB Type-C Multi-Port Adapter 4K with Ethernet V2 recommends only connecting one bus-powered device at a time when in use. The USB ports are rated 3.1/3.2 Gen 1 which can handle 10Gb/s. If your drives have their own power source, then this will perform well, if not then the dock will not be able to supply enough power.
