It simply slips over the mic's integrated windscreen, ensuring fast and easy placement and removal.
The Sennheiser MKE 400 ships with the MZH 400 Furry Windshield but, alas, I lost mine. The MKE 400 has a blimp like outer tube, so it does fine in light wind without a deadcat. However, once trades kick up, I bust out the fuzzy Sennheiser deadcat and all is well in paradise. It's snug but not too tight and is easy to mount in a few seconds of toil. It's fitted so batteries can be changed without removing the deadcat.
