The Kupo Midi-Max Baby Kit Stand is a robust 4-section stand made of chrome-plated steel and is a widely versatile tool for mounting fixtures both in the studio and on location. The stand extends to 11.5' via three risers, the top of which carries a directly-welded 5/8" baby pin.
This kit stand makes an appropriate support system for mid-sized light fixtures and other equipment. Its triple-riser, 4-section design reflects the standard kit stand platform, but its steel construction allows it to hold up to 28.7 lb of gear on its integrated 5/8" spigot. Its strength does not compromise its portability, however, as its legs quickly fold for transport. For simplified positioning on flat surfaces, Kupo offers a set of optional casters (available separately).

I bought this stand to pair with my Aputure 600D, and for the most part, I wasn't disappointed. I was expecting it to have a larger footprint (similar to the size of the standard black Impact stands) but it's actually smaller, but the weight and strength of the stand never concern me even with the 600D over 6 feet in the air.
I wouldn't have minded a larger size stand, but if you're looking for a compact stand that is beefy and heavy, this is a great option.

These stands have become my favorite light to medium duty light stands. Short enough to make packing into my SUV for location shoots easy, but tall enough for pretty much anything you need on most shoots. Unless I need a combo stand, these are what I grab.
