If you're a producer who's in need of big '80s guitar tones—the kind popularized by John Petrucci, Metallica, and the Police—then the Overloud BHS Trixy Rig Expansion is the downloadable software for you. This selection of amp, cabinet, and pedal emulations is based on the winning combination of a Mesa Boogie Triaxis preamp, and 2:90 preamp and power-amp rack setup, in which the guitarists from those aforementioned bands used throughout the '80s.
The amp heads were captured with a classic Recto 4x12 cab and a Bogner 4x12 speaker cabinet, using V30 speakers and classic API preamps for the recording. The library offers 55 individual rigs, alongside 26 patches that give you the tone of classic songs from the era.
