What is the difference between this and the original version?
They updated the laptop/tablet pocket to close more effectively, the fleece-lined pocket no longer hangs in your way when accessing the top compartment from inside the bag. The key hook design is easier to use on the V2. They also updated the zipper pulls, the back panel and shoulder straps too.

For those that have the 31L have you been able to fit it under (most) airline seats? Or had any issues with it as a personal carry-on item at the gate?
Most Domestic USA flights have a carry on size limit of 22" x 14" x 9". The WANDRD PRVKE 31L v2 is 21"H X 12"W X 7"D. This will fit with most domestic airline regulations, but make sure to check the specific regulations of the airline you plan on flying. Permissible sizes for under the seat in front of you vary, but pretty much all of them do not allow for a bag this size. Always check the airline to see what they allow.
