A Great Option for flexible ND Filtration

This adapter is very well made, with a solid feel and good finishing. It mounts on both the camera and lenses securely with a definite click. The provided Arca-Swiss compatible mount is removable with the provided hex key, but the rest of the mount system is not removable (I tried, but ended up stripping the small screws before I got them to loosen), which I am disappointed in. The ND filtration is slightly more than advertised (which is preferable to less) with my copy providing 1.7 stops to 8.7 stops of ND effect. The images have a slight shift in the white balance towards green, but a custom WB corrects that. There is little if any loss of sharpness from the adapter, which is impressive considering it has 4 air-filter surfaces providing the ND effect. The best part of the adapter is that it exhibits no cross effect with extremely wide-angle lenses (evident in variable ND filters that are placed on the front of ultra-wide lenses) - I tested it with the 17mm TS-E and the 16-35mm lens, and both showed no unevenness at all, which is very impressive. The only reason this is not a 5 star review is I bought it hoping it would work with my IR converted body, but unfortunately, it only provides 2.7 stops of filtration at the max on that camera, which is only slightly more density than at the minimum setting of 1.7. So, not of infrared photography, but absolutely recommended for regular R mount cameras!
