KRK S8.4-NA Overview

Audio engineers, studio musicians, and audio enthusiasts looking for a high-quality active subwoofer to extend the low frequencies of their monitor setup will be thrilled with the KRK S8.4, a fourth-generation powered studio subwoofer that delivers tight defined bass with remarkable transient performance, control, and punch. Adding this subwoofer to your 2.1 setup or 5.1 surround environment will optimize your mixing and listening experience.

The S8.4 utilizes a 109W Class-D amplifier to power the 8" glass-aramid composite woofer, which offers a 35 to 133 Hz frequency response with a peak SPL of 112.8 dB. XLR, 1/4", and RCA inputs and outputs are available, allowing you total flexibility when connecting additional subs and monitors. A four-position selectable crossover lets you adjust the subwoofer settings to easily match your existing monitors. The S8.4 can be paired with any full-range studio monitor, but really shines when paired with KRK's Rokit and VXT monitors. The curved design with front-firing bass port provide placement flexibility. Other notable features include polarity and input sensitivity controls, as well as a ground lift to prevent ground loops.

Bypass Footswitch
  • Mix with confidence. The bypass footswitch control allows you to quickly mute the sub and send full-range audio to your recording monitors.
Heavy-Duty Enclosure
  • KRK Subwoofers feature reinforced MDF enclosures for maximum strength and durability. Never let a spilled beer or wild ninja roundhouse kick stop your mixing session again.
Front-Firing Port
  • KRK engineered the front port to provide low-frequency extension while reducing boundary coupling. The unique shape is optimized to avoid port turbulence.
Plays Well with Others
  • Dedicated crossover and optional high-pass filter bypass means that the subwoofers are the perfect complement to powered monitors. From mixing and mastering to sound design, broadcast, and production work—KRK has you covered.

KRK S8.4-NA Reviews

Amazing, Full-Room Sound

This subwoofer really stepped up my listening enjoyment! It did take a bit of time to dial in the cord management and the balance in the room and with the existing KRK monitors, but it wasn't too much trouble. I am no expert here and I was able to figure it out with some trial and error. Definitely recommend this product if you're wanting a fuller, all-range music experience.

The location I'd like to put this sub would require it to go on its side, with the port on the bottom. I would plan on having it on top of a foam subwoofer pad to decouple it. Would this be stable in that orientation?
Asked by: Parker
Yes, it is possible to position the KRK S8.4 Powered Studio Subwoofer with the port on the bottom and it will be stable in this orientation.

Hi ! How can I connect this subwoofer, I mean what I need to use for my Computer. (I had 2 rokit 8)?
Asked by: Roger
You need an interface for good sound basically you would come output from interface connected to KRK sub inputs then 2 more xlr cables from the output of KRK sub into Rokit 8's input or if you dont want an interface you can connect a 3.5mm jack into computer with 2 male xlr on the other end connect that to KRK sub then 2 more cables xlr calbes from sub to Rokit 8's.. If you have any questions please video chat Pro Audio .
