Tilta PowerGrip Handle with Trigger Overview

Add stability and handheld control to your camera setup and power your Nucleus Nano motor via an 8V USB Type-C output port with this Left-Side Advanced Focus Handle for F570 Battery from Tilta. This handgrip in a black finish features two threaded mounting holes that allow you to choose from a variety of attachment options for mounting on your camera cage or baseplate (attachment is not included and required). The comfortable handgrip accepts an F55/F570 L-series battery internally, allowing you to power your Nucleus Nano focus control motor using the included cable. A separate cable for run/stop control for cameras that support this function is required, but not included. The handgrip also features a 12 VDC output port.

The handgrip features a record start/stop button and a calibration feature for use with a variety of lenses. The integrated female mounting threads permit 360° rotation for adjustment of the handgrip's angle, and it allows you to choose your mounting attachment such as the Tilta Rosette Attachment, ARRI Locating Pin Attachment, NATO Rail Adapter, and more. An included adjustable wrist strap helps keep your hand comfortably on the handgrip.

Great tool for running focus motors

I use this with a Sony FX3, Tilta Nucleus Nano 2 and focus motor. Battery lasts pretty much all day event shooting powering the wheel and motor. I do wish it could talk to the camera successfully. I have never been able to get that to work. I also wish the second USB port was useful. I haven't found anything that can be powered by it and the sony should be able to talk to it but I can't seem to get that to work either. From a power perspective it works but it WILL NOT power your FX3 which is a bit silly in my opinion. The strap is nice and does help me run longer with it. The ergonomics of the grip is really good assuming you have large hands. I typically wear L/XL gloves.

This is designed for Tiltaing camera cages only. It may not properly connect with Smallrig cages and is not recommended for them

The Tiltaing Side Focus Handle Type III (NP-F970, Tilta Gray) (B&H# TIASFH397G) would not be an ideal choice for the Tiltaing BMPCC 4K/6K Cage Advanced Kit (Black) (B&H# TIAT01AB). Rather, for the Tiltaing BMPCC 4K/6K Cage Advanced Kit (Black) (B&H# TIAT01AB) we would recommend the Tiltaing Side Focus Handle Type I with T5 Holder (F970, Tilta Gray) (B&H# TITASFH197G).

Can the handle with the 970 power the Canon R5/R5C via the micro USB C to USB C on the camera?

The Tilta Tiltaing Side Power Handle Type III (NP-F970 Battery, Tilta Gray) is not an approved solution for powering the Canon R5C camera. Canon's USB power supply or approved USB batteries should be used.
