Tilta PowerGrip Handle with Trigger Overview

Power your Nucleus Nano lens motor and add start/stop control for select cameras with the type-IV Right-Side Advanced Focus Handle with Run/Stop for F570 Battery from Tilta. This handgrip with a tactical gray finish allows you to connect to an optional Nucleus Nano motor to control focus via the built-in finger wheel. It also features a record button for triggering record on/off over an optional Tilta R/S cable connection to compatible cameras. Multiple R/S cables are available, depending on your camera.

It comes with a NATO rail clamp, allowing you to attach it to a suitable camera or cage. The NATO clamp can be removed to reveal two threaded mounting holes that allow you to choose from a variety of attachment options for mounting on your camera cage or baseplate. The comfortable handgrip accepts an F55/F570 L-series battery internally, allowing you to power your Nucleus Nano focus control motor via the built-in thumbwheel, and it includes a run/stop cable. The handgrip also features a 12 VDC output port.

The handgrip features a record start/stop button and a calibration feature for use with a variety of lenses. The integrated female mounting threads permit 360° rotation for adjustment of the handgrip's angle, and they allow you to choose your mounting attachment such as the Tilta Rosette Attachment, ARRI Locating Pin Attachment, NATO Rail Adapter, and more. An included adjustable wrist strap helps keep your hand comfortably on the handgrip.

Great tool for running focus motors

I use this with a Sony FX3, Tilta Nucleus Nano 2 and focus motor. Battery lasts pretty much all day event shooting powering the wheel and motor. I do wish it could talk to the camera successfully. I have never been able to get that to work. I also wish the second USB port was useful. I haven't found anything that can be powered by it and the sony should be able to talk to it but I can't seem to get that to work either. From a power perspective it works but it WILL NOT power your FX3 which is a bit silly in my opinion. The strap is nice and does help me run longer with it. The ergonomics of the grip is really good assuming you have large hands. I typically wear L/XL gloves.

The Nato grip didn't fit any of my camera cages

The product built quality is perfect, feels and looks solid in the hand. I only wish this worked as it should since the Nato Rail grip for some reason seems to be off by 1mm that it doesn't fit any of my camera cages. I mainly bought it for my FX3 and A7SIII cameras, but none of them fit. I even tried another attachable nato rail, it still doesn't work wit it. Pretty disappointed, will have to return it.

This is designed for Tiltaing camera cages only. It may not properly connect with Smallrig cages and is not recommended for them

Can the handle with the 970 power the Canon R5/R5C via the micro USB C to USB C on the camera?

The Tilta Tiltaing Side Power Handle Type III (NP-F970 Battery, Tilta Gray) is not an approved solution for powering the Canon R5C camera. Canon's USB power supply or approved USB batteries should be used.

Yes that is a shoe accessory on top. You can attach anything that has a shoe mount to that port such as articulating arms monitor mounts etc.

Yes, the Tilta Left-Side Power Handle with Run/Stop Type VIII's (Black) run/stop button can trigger start/stop recording when connected to the Canon EOS R5 Mark II Mirrorless Camera (BH #CAER52).

Yes, the Tilta Left-Side Advanced Power Handle Type V (F570, Black) can be used on the Nikon ZII Mirrorless camera but the camera cannot be powered fully by the handle. There is no specific model for the Nikon ZII.
