Braun reflecta x33 Reviews

OK but poor color rendition

This copier works just fine, and is easy to use. However the copies do not have good color rendition compared to the original slides. There is a limited range of colors in the copies and somewhat more contrast too. The color adjustments available also have only a few steps if you want to adjust color on your copy. Some older slides may have faded or had some color shift take place anyway and the copy that this provides may the best that can be done with poor originals. In that case this copier would very acceptable as a means of salvaging something from the original image. I have not tried it with color negatives.

Rescues Old Kodachrome Just Fine

I'm using the x33 at the default real resolution to convert 75 year-old 35mm Kodachrome slides to digital jpegs. Many of them are faded or damaged, but the x33 copies them accurately and quickly. I use Corel PhotoPaint and/or Nero AI to improve the ones most important to me, and the x33 seems to retain enough of the original detail for those programs to work just fine with its output. Give that, I think the x33 price is reasonable for the work I require of it.

Can I connect my Apple MacBook Pro 14", 2021, running Somona 14.6.1 directly to the scanner and have the scans go to myu laptop?
Asked by: Michael Chico
The Braun reflecta x33 Film Scanner cannot send the files directly to a connected computer when first scanning the images. However, it can be connected to a computer (both Mac and PC) via USB and then transfer the images that have been scanned/saved to the internal SD card over to the computer.
