I buy one of these every few years. They last a long time, it's just the nature of cables that if they get folded a bunch of times eventually the rubber coating breaks. But that's fine. Usually my dog shreds before I break it myself. Easily fixed with electrical tape. Love Monoprice

If you need a long cord, and who doesn't, this works great. I have enough things that still work with USB-A and I don't want to throw out stuff and make more electronic waste.

This is a USB 2.0 data cable it is not a monitor cable.
