They easily install onto a 1" square tube leg and secure using a spring steel retainer, ensuring a tight fit without damaging the leg sidewall. The dual-locking brake mechanism locks the caster direction and rotation more reliably than traditional designs. The adjustable brake pad mechanism is placed on top of the wheel to lengthen its working life and prevent dirt buildup from regular use.

Matthews Rock n' Roller Reviews
Great overall but brake design not good and fails quickly.

Expensive yes, but not much else like it in terms of gliding big combo stands easily outdoors or anywhere-that part is great-worth the cost! But after only a year of light use since purchase (less than 20 on set days) the brakes have all failed pretty much. The design method to stop rotation of wheel's direction loses its bite after time, and separately, the rubber stoppers to physically brake each wheel from above have become unglued and fallen off, so there's nothing to apply pressure downward to the wheel anymore. I've dropped off at Matthews and hope they treat as warranty issue. If there's an actual repair cost-this will be my first and last set. I have nursed these generally speaking and kept them in their own bin-no neglect at all. Meanwhile all my standard casters have never failed. Lock release itself is a bit awkward to flip up on occasion when you can't quite get your foot to hit it right under the stand-when I hand these off to new folks on set to use-there's inevitably the fumbling to click them open moment.

Do these wheels fit the Slider Stand (249561)? If so, how much height do they add?
Asked by: Rory
There are two versions of these wheels, one for use with a Matthews Combo stand and one for use with its slider or monitor stand. Matthews tells me that the difference is a single part that can be changed out and costs $60.
