The Tiffen 77mm Skylight 1-A Wide Angle Mount Filter is a general use filter with a slight pink tint to help improve overall color accuracy and clarity. The light pink coloration helps to reduce the overall bluish cast of daylight and is especially effective when photographing landscapes and in shade.

The Sky 1A filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

This filter features a slimmer profile mounting ring, which is ideal for use with wide angle lenses. It does not have front filter threads for stacking filters.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings.

Helps to improve general color accuracy and clarity when photographing outdoors in daylight and shade.
Light pink tint reduces bluish cast of natural light.
General protection filter reduces dust, moisture, and scratches from reaching lens elements.

77mm Skylight 1-A Wide Angle Mount Filter is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from doesn't do what I wanted it to do it works as advertised: seems to be a very nice filter, and doesn't create any additional vignetting even on my tokina 11-16 when set at 11 and f/2.8 BUT it doesn't do what I wanted it to do: I wanted a clear filter that I could let on the lens forever, to avoid smudges and scratches on that expensive piece of glass, but this wide angle version is not useful for that, as the lens cap won't attach anymore when the filter is on if I want to use it to protect my lens, I have to take the cap off, then screw the filter on, then take very nice pictures, then unscrew the filter, then put the cap back on I'm pretty confident I won't use the filter much absolutely my fault, though

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I wouldn't buy it again When you use it on a 77mm lens, your lens cap will no longer fit. The internal size is smaller than 77mm and therefore you can't use the old lens cap. boo.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good protection,however... I bought this filter for the protection it will offer on my nikkor 10-24mm wide angle zoom. I get no vignetting with the filter when the lens is set at 10mm, however you may need to buy a different style of lens cap, because of the thin design of the filter the Nikons nice pinch style cap hardly catches the lip of the filter. If it gets bumped very softly the cap will come off, I do not carry the lens with the cap on for fear of losing it. But that's why I got the filter to protect the lens when I use it, so I only use the cap when the lens is in the bag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product, great price Pro - keeps the front element of the lens safe. Con - I forgot that low profile means can't use lens cap.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good buy for the money This is an everyday filter that serves my basic shooting needs for a variety of subject matter. I use my gear for news, sports and feature photography, shooting in a variety of weather conditions. A higher-end filter is probably desirable for fine art or studio photography, but I can't afford to trash a filter costing several times as much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great filter Use this filter on my Canon 10-22. Absolutely no noticeable vignetting in practical use or loss of image quality. Unfortunate that it has to be so thin as the lens cap barely catches and can fall off quite easily. But is suppose that's the nature of any slim filter needed for wide angle lenses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from crisp and clear filter I had purchased this filter as a simple means of protecting my lens at first. After using it for a while I found that it had a noticeable affect on the quality of my images. I highly recommend this product for professional use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it promises I bought this wide-angle filter for a 12-24 lens. I tried it at the widest angle on some scenic shots. It not only significantly reduced haze to virtually nothing, its rim did not interfere. I highly recommend it.
