Barska Blackhawk Monocular Reviews

Birding with the Barska

We’re a keen bird watching family and when I obtained a Bushnell Legend Monocular the wife and I both grabbed at it when we spotted a bird. So this had to be fixed, but with the current exchange rates another Legend was just not an option. So while scrolling through the options we saw the Barska and loved it for the affordable price. Once we received it we rushed of to spend Easter weekend birding. Does it work well as a birding monocular, yes it does. It’s clear, it has a great zoom function and it is relatively light to carry. Does it have a short fall, unfortunately yes. The field of view is rather small, so getting onto the bird initially is a bit more difficult, but once you’ve acquired it the views are excellent. Will I recommend it? Yes, the Bushnell Legend 10x42 is better, but this is way cheaper and almost as good. If you can’t afford the Bushnell, go for the Barska!

A necessity on the Range

Barska 10-30 x 50 Monocular, invaluable on the range. Variable for any distance target. Small, and swift. Almost fits in a pocket. Had bought a second one to keep as spare.
