Using this on my iPhone 12 Pro Max, with the apple clear case on, so the stand is actually attached to the case instead of directly to the back of the phone. The magnetic hold is not super strong, but strong enough to stand the phone in both orientation. And also when I hold it with my hand. And it's easy to remove when you don't want it. Sometimes I put the phone in my jeans back pocket and it does not fall off, however it might if you are careless. For me it works well.
