The 82mm Skyeye Magnetic Soft-Edge Graduated ND Filter with Adapter Ring from Kase darkens specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. The filter is densest at one edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a soft-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas. A neutral density filter with a soft-edged line of transition is particularly useful for images that do not have a strongly defined transition between the sky and the foreground. This filter does not affect the color of the image and provides a 3-stop reduction in light from entering the lens. Each surface of the filter's optical glass includes an easy clean resistance coating that resists water, oil, smudging and scratching. Up to four Skyeye filters can be stacked for even greater creative control, and the rings feature front filter threads for using conventional lens caps.
The included magnetic lens adapter ring allows the filter to be used on a lens with 82mm front filter threads and mounted or removed more quickly than with conventional threaded filters.
