These soft cases come with new lenses, and we usually just set them aside in favor of using the dividers in our camera bags. Here is what I have come to appreciate about soft lens cases. In addition to protecting the lens, they also take up less room than dividers! You can get more gear into a case if you have less dividers! Think about that if you are traveling and are limited in the size of the case you can bring. With these cases, you can bring more gear! I don't know about you, but I don't buy lenses so that I can leave them at home. If you are like me and have purchased a couple of used lenses that didn't come with any case at all, these soft lens cases are a relatively inexpensive way to protect your gear and to travel with. Think about it!

I have a 24-105mm L series and the LP1219 is a perfect fit for this lens. I use the LP lens cases for all of my L series lens.
