Tokina Cinema 25-75mm T2.9 Overview

This PL-mount 25-75mm T2.9 Cinema Lens from Tokina sports a 36mm image circle that covers Super 35 and select larger image sensors. Designed to match the Tokina Cinema 50-135mm T2.9 Mk II and 11-20mm T2.9 zoom lenses, the 25-75mm zoom lens features a constant T2.9 maximum aperture, limited focus breathing, and low distortion.

It has an easy-to-read distance scale measured in feet and a clickless aperture ring for smooth iris pulls. The focus, aperture, and zoom rings all have standard 0.8 MOD cine-style gears for use with follow focus systems. This zoom lens has a common 95mm front diameter for use with professional matte boxes and has a filter thread size of 86mm. Its lens mount is interchangeable with separately available Canon EF, MFT, and Sony E mounts.

Great lens and near perfect range

This is a great lens with a near perfect focal length range. I had to adjust shims out of the box to ensure that it was parfocal, I had ordered a shim kit directly from Tokina but found that I actually needed to drop two 0.02 to ensure proper back focus. This is a fantastic lens for the price for super 35 coverage, the only thing that would make it better is if where a 21-75mm but I'll happily take this for the size and weight.

I own the Tokina 11-20 and 50-135 and this lens is the perfect lens to complete the set or to own on it's own. I find it sharper than the other two lenses (although the 50-150 is nice and sharp) and unlike some other brands it can be used wide open at T2.9 (not too soft). Beautiful build, no focus breathing that I saw.

Is PL mount interchangeable? The description says interchangeable mount - E, M4/3 but no mention of PL. If I order in E or PL can I swap between the 2?

The Tokina 25-75mm T2.9 Lens has a 36mm image circle. Any RED sensor that is less than or equal to 36mm will be covered.

that information isn't provided by the manufacturer, it is a standard PL mount. If the intent is to use it with an expand-er or other adapter of some sort you will need to use the measurement tool provided with said adapter to gauge compatibility
