Wonderful lens for video
I am using the Lumix S 50mm on a Lumix S IIx, and it is sharp with good color rendition. The small size and weight is a major benefit, and the fact that its dimensions carry through the entire series makes switching lenses on my gimbal a breeze, as it does not require rebalancing.
Best 50mm for the Price!
Well built, solid optics and perfectly balanced on the S5II. For a F1.8, it's very sharp and color reproduction is great. For video this lens is so good, with quiet AF and the bokeh is very pleasing. Very pleased with this lens. Highly recommend as one of the first lenses to get when getting into the L-mount system.

Amazing performance at a bargain price!
I am using the Panasonic Lumix S 50mm f/1.8 Lens along with my Leica M lenses on the Leica SL2s camera and I am very impressed with the quality of the images this lens produces even when used wide open at f1.8! The auto focus is quick and precise and is a great match to the SL2s body in terms of weight and feel. This is an outstanding lens at a very reasonable price and a great entry point for a dedicated lens to use with the Leica SL2 system.
