Panasonic DP-UB9000 Overview

View UHD 4K and HDR content from any region on your compatible display with the Panasonic DP-UB9000E HDR UHD 4K Multi-Region Network Blu-ray Disc Player. It supports high-resolution audio formats such as FLAC, AAC, and AIFF for a dynamic audio experience, and it has a 7.1-channel analog, stereo-balanced XLR, and a dedicated HDMI audio output. Additionally, you can control the Blu-ray player with your voice through your Alexa or Google Assistant-enabled device.

Multi-Region Compatibility
This Blu-ray player is an original Panasonic player that has been expertly modified by a third-party vendor to make it region-free and able to play on NTSC and PAL televisions. Please see the included documentation for instructions on how to change regions to match your media.
HDR Compatibility
The DP-UB9000E supports the HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HLG HDR formats.
HCX Processor
The Hollywood Cinema Experience (HCX) processor helps enable HDR processing with precise chroma processing, an HDR Optimizer, HDR to SDR conversion, and HDR adjustment for a variety of viewing conditions.
Enhanced Image Quality
Panasonic's image processing technologies are designed to produce HDR images with enhanced detail, applying mapping from one scene to the next to instantly adjust brightness levels for all your 4K HDR content.
4K Direct Chroma Upscaling
Upconverting Full-HD chrominance and luminance signals directly into 4K signals helps produce natural textures with augmented depth.
High-Resolution Audio Performance
The DP-UB9000E provides analog audio circuits that include a dedicated audio power supply, D/A converter, and balanced XLR terminals. The alumite-treated aluminum chassis is designed for high rigidity and a low center of gravity to help reduce vibration to improve sound quality. The 192 kHz / 32-bit 4-DAC supports high-resolution audio, so you can enjoy all the detail in your compatible recordings. Dual HDMI terminals separate and transmit video and audio signals independently.
Enhanced Purity
The HDMI Low Clock Jitter Process is designed to faithfully reproduce the original sound recorded onto your Blu-ray discs and DVDs.
THX Certification
With THX Certification, the DP-UB9000E can faithfully reproduce the colors and images that the film creator intended and provide lifelike surround sound.
Hi-Res Audio

Once set up, this Panasonic Blu-ray player gave a very sharp, colorful and wonderfully detailed image. I have a connected to a JVC projector onto a 110 inch screen. The audio, which I have Atmos, was also exceptional. It took only minutes to hook up when I first got it, that was very simple. I then updated the firmware, as instructed, and that took about 20 minutes. It took about a half an hour to complete the settings and I went to YouTube. I got great information. While it took perhaps a complete hour to set up and then worked flawlessly. The remote control unit was very helpful and easy to use. The machine ran very quietly. But the picture was just outstanding. I really felt I was in a movie theater. All I needed was the popcorn..

Faulty disc transport

My player’s disc transport will no longer operate after the warranty has expired. Disc drawer will not come out. My brother has same UB9000 which failed in the same way. He had transport replaced at his expense and it has failed a second time!! We have not used these heavily at all. Panasonic has refused to do anything about this! Others online have had same problem. Beware!

The spec shows that the AC input power is 00 to 240 VAC, 50 / 60 Hz. So we can use in Hong Kong without an AC adaptor, right?

DP-UB9000 ~ you say it can (italic) be controlled by Alexa- or Google ~ but is there also a compatible IR remote?

Hello, Fred! The product is compatible with the remote control N2QAYA000175. When other Panasonic devices respond to the remote control of the unit, change the remote control code. You can also operate the TV through the unit’s remote control. Some buttons may not work depending on the TV. Does this multi-region version turn off if it is paused for 20 minutes? The USA model does and it is so annoying.

Hello! If a list of playback content is displayed and there is no operation for 5 minutes or more, the screen switches to the Home menu automatically, to prevent image retention and protect the player. Hope this helps! - S
