Do yourself & your camera body & lens a favor: buy an EDDYCAM strap. EDDYCAM straps are super supple & feel comfortable against one's neck. For large camera bodies & lenses, consider the wider 60mm strap, which distributes weight more easily. If one has invested thousands in gear, why not invest in straps that may cost more than average, but will ensure piece of mind that one's gear is protected?

What is the difference between this, mfr no. 5051, and the "non-shoulder" version, mfr no. 5001?
The "Shoulder Version" is extremely slip resistant through the implementation of an innovative material combination of Finnish elk leather on the outside and Mongolian yak leather on the inside. The "Non Shoulder Version" does not have the Mongolian yak leather on the inside.
