HP Z25xs G3 Reviews

Works for me!

By Rob
Rated 4 out of 5

Bought to replace ageing Apple 23 Display. I read the only review on this monitor and was a little apprehensive. I did try the USBC cable first, but I also found that the brightness reverted to 100% on restart or wake up. Then I thought I'd try the HDMI connection to my MacMini. Brightness stays at set level on restart or awaken. Nice sharp monitor, good cooler renditions but would like to use a colorimeter to get the screen properly calibrated. Have to look into that...

Firmware / Software Issues

By James

Cons: - The HP Display Center software on a Mac successfully created a User Defined (custom) calibration, but the monitor brightness always resets to the maximum after waking from sleep or after the computer powers on. - Despite what the user manual says, the HP Display Center software for Mac is not available on Apple Store, you must download it from HP. - The HP Display Center software on a Mac cannot update the firmware. - The HP Display Center software on a PC has issues creating a User Defined (custom) calibration, and cannot update the firmware. Warns that the monitor is not connected, despite being connected via the supplied USB-C cable to the USB-C uplink port. Pros: - Looks great on the desk. Stand moves smoothly. Razor thin bezel. Sharp resolution.
