What is the minimum clamp depth required? My desk only has 1.5" of depth and I can't tell if that's enough. Thanks!
Asked by: Kent
The Auray SMS-10CL Adjustable Clamp-On Desktop Studio Monitor Stand does not specify a minimum width/depth that its clamps can be mounted to, but based on the images provided that show the length of the tightening screws, this stand should be capable of mounting to thin surfaces as small as roughly half an inch. The SMS-10CL should have no issue mounting to a desk of 1.5" thickness.

What is the rear overhang of the plate? That is, can a desk be flush against a wall, or must there be some space behind it?
Asked by: marc
When using the Auray Adjustable Clamp-On Desktop Studio Monitor Stands, you will need to leave a few inches between the desk and the wall to accommodate the mounting plates. The plates can be positioned in either direction and the dimensions of the plates are 9.75 × 11.75" (24.8 × 29.8 cm). The clamp opens to 2" (5 cm) wide. I would estimate that you will need to leave approximately 4 to 6" of space between the back of the desk and the wall when the monitor stands are attached.
