Can I connect it straight to a dj mixer without using Attenuator to record audio?
The combo jack inputs on the Tascam Portacapture X8 6-Input / 8-Track Handheld Adaptive Multitrack Recorder are able to accept Mic or Line level inputs. When set at Line level, they should not require much attenuation when receiving a feed from a DJ mixer, but it is recommended to monitor and adjust as needed.

As a USB audio interface, what is the maximum bit depth (32?) and Sample Rate (192k?) that this can recorder to the computer at?

There was a firmware update (version 1.30) released in August 2022 that enables 32-bit float over audio interface:

What I don't see mentioned anywhere is the maximum sample rate now supported as an audio interface when using 32-bit float. Is it the full 192KHz?

How does this compare to a MixPre? Specifically with preamps as well as general features.
this is my opinion only i am not a sound guy i do video and this it does not compare to MixPre! it is a basic beginning recorder with attached mics and works for wedding sound boards, podcasting without mixing later, video sound and voice overs the MixPre has better preamps it is made better has more power options better media options at $900+ it should but this at $499 this is a bargain either way a little post production helps
