PreSonus ROTOR Overview

Add the warmth, character, and motion of a classic rotary speaker cabinet to your DAW tracks with PreSonus Rotor, a plug-in that's equally optimal in Studio One and other popular music production software. Thanks to State Space Modeling technology, Rotor provides the special traits of individual analog circuit components such as vacuum tubes and transformers.

The result is a digital emulation that realistically recreates the grit and texture of tube-powered amplification, as well as vibe-rich braking and acceleration effects. The horn and woofer speeds are independently adjustable, and there are controls for other essential settings such as amp drive, spread, and horn/woofer balanced.

Take It for a Spin
Rotor is a rotary speaker emulation plug-in that simulates the sound of a tube-powered amplifier with independently rotating high-mid horns and a bass woofer, magically recreating a sound synonymous with gospel and '70s-era rock. PreSonus' Rotor plug-in excels at adding a sense of motion and tonal character to organ sounds, guitars, or anything you want to try. Each speaker's rotation can be set to a range of speeds, with realistic braking and acceleration effects when changing speeds. State Space Modeling technology provides authentic tube emulation for extra warmth and character. A long-time favorite of Studio One users, Rotor is also available for use in other Mac/Windows DAWs in VST3, AAX, and AU formats.
Analog Warmth for the Digital Age
Thanks to their state-of-the-art State Space Modeling technology, PreSonus is able to model analog circuits on a per-component level. They can even model the specific nonlinearity within these components, which results in even more realistic digital models of analog circuit behavior. This is particularly important for components such as transformers and vacuum tubes. Because of this, Rotor's drive stage captures the character and personality of a classic tube amp, creating authentic character and tone.
