Looking for a truly portable and versatile speaker for on-the-go sound applications? Then look no further than the Mackie Thump Go, an 8", portable, battery-powered loudspeaker with a 2-channel mixer and integrated DSP, great for singer/songwriters, busking, small club/band PA systems, boardrooms, A/V presentations, classrooms, or as a personal monitor for practice or performance.

The rear panel features two combo XLR-1/4" mic/line channels with dedicated gain controls, while an XLR output is provided for daisy-chaining additional speakers. For quick and easy setup, the integrated DSP provides four speaker mode presets (Music, Live, Monitor, and Sub). Simply select your application for the best sound.

Additionally, channel two can pair with any Bluetooth device for audio streaming and there is a link button, which will connect two Thump Gos together for stereo operation. Other features include an indoor/outdoor mode button, music ducking, which lowers the music volume when using a microphone, feedback extermination, and an LED on/off button which controls the LED on the front of the speaker.

Quick One-Button Speaker Mode Selection

  • Speech: Features low-frequency roll-off to mitigate thumps and adds boost and sparkle to midrange and high frequencies. This plug-and-play mode is great for singer/songwriters
  • Monitor: Features a low-frequency roll-off and a reduction around 2 kHz to ensure maximum gain before feedback in monitor applications.
  • Sub: Rolls off the low end of the Thump Go loudspeaker to match properly with the DRM18S subwoofer (sold separately).

The Mackie Thump GO is an outstanding portable loudspeaker that delivers impressive sound quality in a compact, battery-powered package. The audio is clear, powerful, and well-balanced, making it perfect for events, presentations, outdoor gatherings, and mobile audio work. Battery life is excellent, setup is quick and easy, and the built-in Bluetooth functionality adds even more flexibility. Despite its lightweight design, it produces remarkable volume and punch for an 8 inch speaker. Mackie has created a reliable, professional quality portable speaker that exceeds expectations.

The Thump Go 8 is a great application for speech whether you need the battery or not. my general DJ or event application are QSCs but I always needed a 8” monitor but didn’t want to pay premium. My motivation to pull the trigger was to put up a speaker for a small outdoor wedding on the beach to wirelessly mic the officiant and carry the voice over the crashing waves. Was able to play music from laptop and brought a 500W Jackery to power the mics and DBX GoRack. Mic and GoRack ran 36W so that was plenty had I needed to power the Thump 8 which battery was still green after 3 hours of music.

No, the Mackie Thump Go 8" does not provide phantom power, which is required for condenser microphones. You would however be able to connect a condenser microphone if it is being fed through a mixer or phantom power supply such as B&H # XVP1.

No. To be able to link 2 Mackie Thump Go speakers together wirelessly you would need a wireless system like B&H # ALSTEALTHWRK.
