Add the uniquely robotic vowel sounds of the Formant Filter Plug-In Software from Kilohearts to your productions with this electronic download for your Mac or Windows computer. This easy-to-use effect lets you select high and/or low frequencies to process and gives you a Vowel Selector panel where you can position the selection ball among common vowel sounds to customize your formant effect.
Formant Filter will run in your choice of DAW software on the VST, AU, and AAX platforms. The plug-in is also completely compatible with the Kilohearts Snapin ecosystem including Snap Heap, Multipass, and Phase Plant software.
Controls
- Vowel Selector: Selects two frequencies to boost. Phonetic symbols of some common vowel sounds are on the selection pane. Applying an LFO modulation to either axis of the pane can give some nice human-esque qualities to your sound.
- Q knob: Adjusts the width of the filter.
- Lows: Allows low-frequency material through the filter.
- Highs: Allows high-frequency material through the filter.
- Settings panel: Whenever you have your mouse cursor over a Snapin, there is a small arrow at the top right corner. It opens a settings panel where you handle presets.
- Randomize: Randomizes parameters to inspire your creativity.
- Bypass: Turn the effect off to A/B your tweaking.
- Resize: At the bottom right corner of all Kilohearts plug-ins is a handle for resizing/scaling the UI to any size. This allows you to get a good view of the controls no matter what screen resolution you have set, and also comes in handy if you need big controls for using Formant Filter as a real-time effect on a touchscreen monitor during a live set. Resizing is not available when the plug-in is used inside a Snapin host.
