Does it lay flat allowing my customers to flip through my portfolio with one hand?
I have several of these in which I hold my photo prints. When the portfolio is turned to the first page, the front cover rises slightly. But after you turn the first page it lies perfectly flat. (Same thing in reverse for the last page.)

How are refill pages inserted? Do the rings open?
Hi Ellen - I don't have it with me right now but I'll try to help - I am 99% sure the rings do not open, and as there is no mention of refill pages in the product description I doubt they exist. But the black insert allows you to insert two photos per page (with the black insert between them) so the 24 pages effectively support 48 photos.
